Geodesix WordPress Plugin User Guide

This guide shows you how to install the Geodesix WordPress plugin and connect it using the credentials provided by your Geodesix account manager.

Before You Start

You will need these details from Geodesix:

  • SDK Access Key ID
  • SDK Secret Access Key
  • Repository name

The repository name is the folder or queue location where your data will be stored, for example mybusiness.

Install the Plugin

  1. In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add New.
  2. Click Upload Plugin.
  3. Choose the Geodesix plugin .zip file.
  4. Click Install Now.
  5. Click Activate.

Enter the Connection Settings

After activating the plugin:

  1. Open Geodesix SDK > Connection Settings.
  2. Enter your SDK Access Key ID.
  3. Enter your SDK Secret Access Key.
  4. Enter your Repository name.
  5. Click Save Settings.
  6. Click Test Connection.

You must see a successful connection test before starting a bulk upload.

Choose What to Upload

  1. Open Geodesix SDK > Data Upload.
  2. Under Content types, choose Posts, Pages, or both.
  3. If needed, add path filters.
  4. Click Save Settings.

About Path Filters

Path filters let you include or exclude content by URL path.

Examples: /blog, /news, /help

Enter one path per line.

If you leave the include fields blank, all published content in the selected content type will be included.

Keep Content Updated Automatically

If you want edited content to be sent to Geodesix again automatically, turn on Reupload on content updated. This is useful if you regularly edit existing posts or pages.

Start a Bulk Upload

  1. Stay on Geodesix SDK > Data Upload.
  2. Scroll to Bulk upload.
  3. Click Start Bulk Upload.

The upload runs in the background. You can remain on the page and watch the progress.

The status shows:

  • Scanned: items checked
  • Matched: items that fit your settings
  • Uploaded: items sent successfully
  • Skipped by filter: items left out by content type or path rules
  • Skipped empty: items with no meaningful content to send
  • Failed: items that could not be uploaded

Important Notes

  • Only published posts and pages can be uploaded.
  • Drafts, revisions, and deleted content are not uploaded.
  • Deleted content is not removed from Geodesix by this version of the plugin.

Plugin Updates

The plugin is usually installed from a ZIP file only once.

To receive future updates through WordPress, go to the normal Plugins screen in WordPress admin and enable Auto-updates for the Geodesix SDK plugin.

After that, when a new Geodesix plugin version is released, WordPress should normally show the update there and let you install it without downloading a new ZIP file.

Troubleshooting

If something does not work as expected, check that:

  • your connection details were saved correctly
  • Test Connection completed successfully
  • at least one content type is selected in Data Upload
  • your path filters are correct
  • the content you want to upload is published

If you still need help, contact your Geodesix account manager.
