Geodesix WordPress Plugin User Guide
This guide shows you how to install the Geodesix WordPress plugin and connect it using the credentials provided by your Geodesix account manager.
Before You Start
You will need these details from Geodesix:
SDK Access Key IDSDK Secret Access KeyRepository name
The repository name is the folder or queue location where your data will be stored, for example mybusiness.
Install the Plugin
- In WordPress, go to
Plugins > Add New. - Click
Upload Plugin. - Choose the Geodesix plugin
.zipfile. - Click
Install Now. - Click
Activate.
Enter the Connection Settings
After activating the plugin:
- Open
Geodesix SDK > Connection Settings. - Enter your
SDK Access Key ID. - Enter your
SDK Secret Access Key. - Enter your
Repository name. - Click
Save Settings. - Click
Test Connection.
You must see a successful connection test before starting a bulk upload.
Choose What to Upload
- Open
Geodesix SDK > Data Upload. - Under
Content types, choosePosts,Pages, or both. - If needed, add path filters.
- Click
Save Settings.
About Path Filters
Path filters let you include or exclude content by URL path.
Examples: /blog, /news, /help
Enter one path per line.
If you leave the include fields blank, all published content in the selected content type will be included.
Keep Content Updated Automatically
If you want edited content to be sent to Geodesix again automatically, turn on Reupload on content updated. This is useful if you regularly edit existing posts or pages.
Start a Bulk Upload
- Stay on
Geodesix SDK > Data Upload. - Scroll to
Bulk upload. - Click
Start Bulk Upload.
The upload runs in the background. You can remain on the page and watch the progress.
The status shows:
Scanned: items checkedMatched: items that fit your settingsUploaded: items sent successfullySkipped by filter: items left out by content type or path rulesSkipped empty: items with no meaningful content to sendFailed: items that could not be uploaded
Important Notes
- Only published posts and pages can be uploaded.
- Drafts, revisions, and deleted content are not uploaded.
- Deleted content is not removed from Geodesix by this version of the plugin.
Plugin Updates
The plugin is usually installed from a ZIP file only once.
To receive future updates through WordPress, go to the normal Plugins screen in WordPress admin and enable Auto-updates for the Geodesix SDK plugin.
After that, when a new Geodesix plugin version is released, WordPress should normally show the update there and let you install it without downloading a new ZIP file.
Troubleshooting
If something does not work as expected, check that:
- your connection details were saved correctly
Test Connectioncompleted successfully- at least one content type is selected in
Data Upload - your path filters are correct
- the content you want to upload is published
